These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Pinnacle Forensics website and the services, content, and resources made available through this Site.
John Calvin Gaziano owns and operates Pinnacle Forensics.
They apply to visitors, course attendees, agencies, and attorneys. They also apply to anyone who uses the Site, submits an inquiry, registers for training, requests hosting information, or contacts Pinnacle Forensics about case review, consulting, or expert witness services.
By using this Site, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Services covered
Pinnacle Forensics provides crime scene investigation training, hosted-course information, course registration, case review, expert witness and consulting services, and related educational resources.
In addition, service availability, course dates, locations, tuition, descriptions, and scope may change without notice.
Website content and informational use
Content on this Site is provided for general informational purposes only.
The Site does not provide legal advice.
No content on this Site should be treated as a forensic opinion for a specific matter. A case-specific forensic opinion must be provided under a separate written consulting or expert-services engagement.
Submitting a contact form does not create an attorney-client, consulting, or expert-retention relationship. The same applies to communication by email or phone.
Training registration and enrollment
Course registration is subject to seat availability.
Payment or an approved agency purchase order must be received before the course start date or before the course reaches capacity.
Enrollment is secured only after Pinnacle Forensics receives payment or a purchase order and sends confirmation to the attendee or employing agency.
A course inquiry, waitlist request, or other expression of interest does not reserve a seat.
Tuition, payment, and purchase orders
Pinnacle Forensics currently accepts credit card payments, checks, and agency purchase orders for training registration.
By providing payment information, you authorize Pinnacle Forensics to charge the applicable amount for the services selected.
You are responsible for providing accurate billing and contact information.
If payment is declined, reversed, disputed, or not received when due, Pinnacle Forensics may delay, deny, or cancel enrollment or services until the issue is resolved.
Cancellation, substitution, and course changes
A full refund will be issued for training cancellations made more than 14 days before the course start date.
Cancellations made within 14 days of the course start date will incur a $300 cancellation fee.
Substitutions are allowed at any time.
An attendee who does not attend the course and has not provided prior notice acknowledged by Pinnacle Forensics will forfeit the full course cost.
A full refund may be issued in an emergency upon receipt of appropriate documentation.
Pinnacle Forensics reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course, including due to low enrollment or circumstances outside its reasonable control.
If Pinnacle Forensics cancels a course, affected attendees or agencies will receive a prompt refund of paid tuition.
Hosted courses
Hosted courses for agencies, academies, and regional training groups may be subject to separate written arrangements. These arrangements may cover scheduling, facility requirements, minimum enrollment, host responsibilities, travel, payment, and related logistics.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and a separate written hosting agreement, the written hosting agreement will control for that hosted event.
Case acceptance and conflict review
Pinnacle Forensics provides forensic training, case review, reconstruction, consulting, and expert witness services. Case-related matters are accepted only after a preliminary review for conflicts of interest, scope of services, professional suitability, availability, deadlines, and applicable ethical or legal considerations.
Submission of a contact form, email, phone call, case summary, or other inquiry does not create a consultant-client relationship, expert-retention relationship, or obligation for Pinnacle Forensics to accept the matter. A consulting or expert-services engagement begins only after Pinnacle Forensics confirms acceptance in writing and the scope, terms, and retention requirements are agreed upon.
Please do not submit confidential, privileged, sealed, protected, or time-sensitive case materials unless and until Pinnacle Forensics specifically requests them. Submission of information does not create a duty for Pinnacle Forensics to review, respond to, preserve, or act upon the information by any deadline.
Pinnacle Forensics reserves the right, to the extent permitted by law, to decline any inquiry, case review, reconstruction, consulting engagement, or expert witness engagement. Matters may be declined for reasons including, but not limited to, an actual or perceived conflict of interest, prior or current professional relationships, personal or employment-related conflicts, insufficient information to evaluate the request, deadlines that do not allow for a proper review, requests outside the scope of services offered, requests inconsistent with forensic objectivity, or matters that are otherwise not a suitable professional fit.
Pinnacle Forensics also reserves the right, to the extent permitted by law and any applicable written agreement, to withdraw from or discontinue work on an accepted matter if a conflict of interest, ethical concern, professional limitation, nonpayment issue, lack of necessary information, or other circumstance arises that makes continued involvement inappropriate or impractical.
Any accepted work is limited to the agreed scope of review and the materials provided. Opinions, findings, and testimony are based on the available evidence, documented limitations, reliable methodology, and the facts and assumptions stated in the work product—not advocacy for any party.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site to:
• violate any law or regulation
• interfere with the Site’s operation or security
• copy, scrape, republish, or exploit Site content without permission
• submit false, misleading, or unauthorized information
• use the Site in a way that infringes the rights of Pinnacle Forensics or any third party
Pinnacle Forensics may limit, suspend, or terminate access to the Site if it reasonably believes a user has violated these Terms.
Training conduct and safety
Attendees must follow instructor directions, host-site rules, and reasonable safety procedures during training.
Pinnacle Forensics may remove an attendee from a course without refund if the attendee’s conduct is unsafe, unlawful, disruptive, harassing, or materially interferes with instruction or other attendees.
Intellectual property and course materials
All content on this Site, including text, logos, images, videos, course descriptions, manuals, downloadable materials, graphics, and other content, is owned by or used with permission by Pinnacle Forensics unless otherwise stated.
Course materials are provided for the registered attendee’s or contracting agency’s authorized use only.
You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, publish, post, or create derivative materials from Site content or course materials without prior written permission.
Third-party links
This Site may contain links to third-party websites or services.
However, Pinnacle Forensics does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, security, or privacy practices of third-party sites
No warranty
Pinnacle Forensics works to keep Site information accurate and current, but does not guarantee that all content, dates, locations, descriptions, availability, or links will always be complete, current, or error-free.
This Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pinnacle Forensics and John Calvin Gaziano will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site, your reliance on Site content, your inability to access the Site, or your purchase or use of services described on the Site.
If liability is imposed notwithstanding the foregoing, it will be limited to the amount you paid to Pinnacle Forensics for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pinnacle Forensics and John Calvin Gaziano from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
Changes to these terms and conditions
Pinnacle Forensics may update these Terms from time to time.
The version posted on this page is the current version.
Unless a later effective date is stated, changes become effective when posted.
