Media & Public Commentary Policy
Introduction
This media and public commentary policy governs media requests and public commentary directed to Pinnacle Forensics. This policy exists to preserve professional neutrality, protect evidentiary integrity, and avoid ethical or legal conflicts that may arise from public discussion of forensic matters.
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to establish clear boundaries governing interactions with media organizations and other third parties seeking commentary, analysis, or opinions related to criminal, civil, or investigative matters.
Scope
This policy applies to all requests from journalists, producers, reporters, bloggers, podcasters, documentary filmmakers, and other media representatives, regardless of platform, format, or audience size.
Active, pending, or recent matters
Pinnacle Forensics does not provide media interviews, commentary, opinions, or analysis regarding active, pending, or recent cases. This includes, but is not limited to, matters that are under investigation, awaiting adjudication, on appeal, or otherwise unresolved.
This restriction applies regardless of jurisdiction, venue, or media outlet.
Non-retained matters
Pinnacle Forensics does not offer speculative, hypothetical, or general commentary on specific cases in which no formal consulting or expert engagement exists. Providing opinions absent formal retention may create ethical, legal, or evidentiary concerns and is inconsistent with professional forensic consulting standards.
Professional and ethical considerations
This policy is intended to:
- Preserve objectivity and professional neutrality
- Prevent speculation based on incomplete or secondhand information
- Avoid mischaracterization or misuse of forensic opinions
- Protect the integrity of forensic analysis and expert testimony
- Prevent conflicts with current or future consulting engagements
Uniform application
This policy is applied uniformly to all media outlets and platforms without exception. Declining participation is not reflective of the requesting party, the subject matter, or the perceived merits of any case.
Limited educational exceptions
In rare circumstances, Pinnacle Forensics may consider participation in general educational discussions unrelated to specific cases, investigative facts, named individuals, or opinions. Any such participation is solely at the discretion of Pinnacle Forensics and must be clearly framed as general education rather than case analysis
Written media inquiries
Written media inquiries may be submitted by email. Receipt of an inquiry does not imply participation, endorsement, or future engagement.
